The earring takes its shape from the fires once kept at the edge of the sea, its deep red and gold in Garnet and Pyrite echoing the coal and spark of flame against wet sand, its green and warm brown in Serpentine and Hessonite echoing a coastline at dusk and the last light of an ember, both holding the glow of fires lit on shorelines and cliffs to call ships home through the dark. The island of Pharos, appears in the Odyssey as the place where Menelaus waited for favourable winds and sought counsel from Proteus, the Sea God who could take any shape but always knew the way home, and centuries later the same island held one of the ancient world's great lighthouses, its fire visible for miles, still doing the work that guidance had always asked of that coast. The design carries the same steady glow, the mark left behind once a fire has settled into something lasting, a small constant standing in for every flame that once guided someone home along the water's edge.

Our gold jewelry is hand-crafted in 18K gold on brass. To avoid oxidization of the gold plating, avoid extended direct contact with water, cleaning solutions and perfumes. For best care, store your jewellery in the provided original packaging.
